Anna has spent her career specialising in resolving construction and engineering disputes. She has litigated on projects as diverse as power and water stations, windfarms, airports, sports stadiums, bridges, luxury homes and mixed-use developments.
As a specialist advocate, her role requires careful marshalling of extensive detailed evidence to present her client’s case persuasively, both orally and in writing. She acts for employers, developers, contractors, architects, engineers, surveyors and insurers thereby acquiring an holistic understanding of our industry. Experience has taught her that the construction industry is unique in that it creates the physical built environment we inhabit and in so doing it generates a myriad network of complex human relationships; the breakdown of any one of which can lead to a dispute, such that understanding the human dynamic of any project is as important as the detailed technical issues that underline the claims.
Those who work with Anna invariably commend the inclusive and supportive environment that she creates with those she works with – whether lawyers, experts of witnesses – resulting in each and every member of the team appreciating the importance of their role, the value of their voice, and ensuring they are able deliver their best work.
Anna currently spends the majority of her time acting as counsel in relation to multi-million dollar International Arbitral disputes in Dubai, Qatar and Oman leading extensive teams of lawyers and experts, whilst also acting on UK matters in the Technology & Construction Courts, Adjudication and through various alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
